Logging Goals

Giv makes it easy to document progress toward individual goals directly within an active shift learn how to log those goals.

Requirements before logging

  1. You must be clocked in as a caregiver or DSP

  2. A service must be in progress for the client


Step 1: open the active shift

  1. Tap Go to Shift on the home screen

  2. Select the client (e.g., Mike Tyson) under the Clients section


Step 2: access the goals section

  1. Tap the Goals tile under the selected client

  2. You’ll see a list of goals pulled from the client’s profile (as set by the agency)


Step 3: log goal progress

  1. Select the goal worked on (e.g., “Socialize with peers”)

  2. Choose the time worked on the goal

  3. Enter details or notes about the activity or progress

  4. Tap Log Activity

🧠 You can log progress toward multiple goals or the same goal more than once during a shift.


Step 4: review logged goals

  • All completed logs will appear under that client’s Goals tile for the current shift

  • This ensures documentation is tied to the correct service and time
