Logging Goals

How to log goals during a shift, as a DSP, in the mobile app.

By default, you must be clocked into your shift and running a service in order to log any goals for that client. Admins may allow you to log goals after the shift ends (setting enabled through the Giv Dashboard).

Step 1: open the shift

If the shift is active:

  1. Login to the app

  2. Tap View shift at the top of the Home screen

  3. Select the client under the Clients section

If the shift is completed:

  1. Login to the app

  2. Scroll down to the Shifts section on the Home screen

  3. Select the Past tab

  4. Tap the past shift you want to add notes

  5. Select the client under the Clients section


Step 2: access the goals section

  1. Tap the Goals tile near the top of the screen

You will see a list of goals that have been assigned to the client (as set by the agency).

Note: If no goals appear, the client has no goals assigned to them in their client profile. Contact your admin team.


Step 3: log goal progress

  1. Select the goal worked on during the shift

  2. Select the Time Completed on the goal

  3. Fill out each field—these are customized by your agency admin

  4. Tap Log Activity

Note: You can log progress toward multiple goals or the same goal more than once during a shift.


Step 4: review logged goals

To view completed goal activities on a shift, tap View History in the Goal tile. Ensure all documentation is tied to the correct service and time.
