Before you begin

To log medications, ensure:

  • You are clocked in

  • A service is in progress for the individual

  • The client’s medications are already entered in the Giv dashboard (admin setup)

Step 1: open the active shift

  1. From the Home Screen, tap Go to Shift

  2. Select the client’s name (e.g., Mike Tyson)

Step 2: access the medications tile

  1. Tap the Meds tile

  2. You’ll see a list of medications pulled from the client’s Giv profile

🧠 If no medications appear, the client has none entered by your agency yet.

Step 3: log a medication event

  1. Select the medication (e.g., Levothyroxine)

  2. Set the time of administration

  3. Add notes (e.g., method, observations, special instructions)

  4. Choose one:

    • Tap Log Administration if given

    • Tap Log Refusal if the client declined the medication

Step 4: view med history

  • After logging, you can tap History to review all medication events during the shift

  • Refusals will be marked with a yellow icon

  • Successful administrations appear with a standard entry

Optional: log multiple meds at once

  1. Tap to select multiple medications

  2. Hit Proceed

  3. Enter notes that apply to all selected meds

  4. Submit your log
