Step 1: view your scheduled shift
Open the Giv app
Go to Upcoming Shifts
Tap on the scheduled shift (e.g., Wednesday the 26th, 9 AM – 9 PM with Mike Tyson)
Review shift details, including:
Service address
Assigned clients
Backup caregivers (if any)
Step 2: choose how to clock in
You have two options based on your situation:
Option 1: Clock In Only
Tap Clock In if:
You're waiting for the client to arrive
You’ve arrived early and services haven’t started yet
This begins your time tracking (payroll), but doesn’t start billing yet.
Option 2: clock in & start services
If the client has arrived and services are ready to begin:
Tap Manage Services
Select the appropriate Service Code (e.g., Individual Residential Support)
Only services added to the client’s budget will appear
Confirm the client receiving the service
Tap Clock In and Start Services
🧠 This clocks you in for payroll and starts the billing timer for the selected service code.
What happens next?
Time is logged for both payroll and billing
You’ll be able to:
Log goals
Record medications
Fill out forms and notes during the shift
