🧩 Overview
We're introducing Post Medication Administration Notifications — a new configuration option within the Medications feature that helps ensure clients receive proper follow-up care after medication is administered. Administrators can now set up time-delayed push notifications per medication type that automatically prompt caregivers to check on the client and record their observations.
Previously, there was no automated mechanism to remind caregivers to follow up after administering medication. Observations, side effects, or adverse reactions could go unrecorded or be delayed — creating gaps in documentation and putting client safety at risk. This feature closes that gap by giving administrators the tools to configure follow-up behavior that matches the monitoring needs of each medication type.

✨ New Features and Feature Enhancements
Per-Medication Notification Toggle Administrators can now enable or disable post-administration notifications on any medication type — new or existing. The toggle is off by default for all previously created medication types, so there's no disruption to your current setup.
Notification Configuration When the toggle is enabled, administrators can configure:
Notification delay time — how many minutes after administration the caregiver should be prompted
Notification message — a customizable message up to 120 characters, with a live character counter. A default message is pre-filled to get you started: "Check client for side effects and record observations in the medication description field."
Live Notification Preview As you type your message, a real-time preview shows exactly how the push notification will appear to caregivers — with the title "Medication follow-up" and your message content — so there are no surprises.
Medication Type Detail Page If a post-administration notification is configured for a medication type, a summary card is shown on the detail page displaying the delay time, message, and an Edit button. If no notification is configured, a toggle is shown so you can enable one at any time.
Editing a Notification Clicking Edit opens a modal where you can update the delay time or message. Changes are previewed live and saved on confirmation.
Deleting a Notification Notifications can be deleted from the Edit modal. A confirmation step is required before deletion to prevent accidental removal. Deleting a notification only removes the notification config — the medication type itself is not affected. After deletion, the medication type detail page returns to showing the option to enable a notification.

✨ Feature Set and Affected Feature Areas
Post-Administration Notifications is a new configuration capability within the existing Medications feature area. It also touches the following:
Medication Types — notification settings are configured and stored at the medication type level
Caregiver Mobile Experience — caregivers receive push notifications on their devices based on administrator configuration
Medication Administration Records — caregivers are prompted to record observations in the medication description field following administration
🐛 Issues and Bug Fixes
This is a net-new feature release. No bug fixes are included in this release. Validation and edge case handling have been built into the V1 scope, including blocked saves when required fields are incomplete and character limits enforced at 120 characters for notification messages.
